How do I get involved with Summer Reading?
Go to Your Local Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library any time during the program to register.

How much does Summer Reading cost?
Nothing! It's absolutely free! But you can help support Summer Reading by buying a really neat tee-shirt. They come in all sizes for the whole family, and you can collect a different one every year!

Win prizes when you register for Summer Reading!
When you sign up for Summer Reading, you'll get a free goodie bag stuffed with a game board, puzzles and more. Earn prizes each week and have fun reading at the same time!

What will I be reading?
You may read magazines, newspapers, books from a school reading list, or any book that you like! There are also some other reading activities on the game board.

If someone can't read yet, can they still join?
No one is too young to join in the fun! Good listening counts for children who have not yet learned to read. Ask about the Read-to-Me Club for preschoolers for more information.

I am in middle school. Am I too old for Summer Reading?
Never! And if you have some summer reading assignments from school, why not read books from that reading list as part of Summer Reading activities? There is even a special game board and cool prizes exclusively for middle-schoolers. Come in to your library to find out more!

Will there be any special Summer Reading Events at my library?
Oh yes! Don't miss any of the fun events at your library. There are activities for all ages, just ask at your library or go to the Calendar of Events on our web site.
