BCPL Birth to Five Pages
It's never too early to start smart! As a child's first teachers, you as parents and/or caregivers are instrumental in promoting reading readiness in children ages birth to five. Baltimore County Public Library's programs and services for babies, toddlers and preschoolers can help you fulfill this important role.
BCPL's Storyville
Storyville is a learning area for children birth to five that is designed to foster early literacy and school readiness skills through interactive discovery and play. It is located at our Rosedale Library and open during regular branch hours.
BCPL Kid's Pages
Created for the Kindergarten to elementary school age child. There are web sites to explore, suggested reading lists, stories to read or listen to as well as information about all sorts of homework-related topics like math, science, social studies, and more.
BCPL Education and Homework InfoCenter
Useful links for several homework subjects particularly for middle school and high school students. Focuses on local public and private schools and colleges, service learning, financial aid/scholarships, planning for college, GED classes and tests, SAT test preparation, home schooling, learning disabilities, after school programs, summer camps, tutors, and tips on choosing a preschool or elementary school.
BCPL About Us - Library Services - Programs and Story Times
Baltimore County Public Library does not require tickets or registration for most programs. The seating is first-come, first served up to legal capacity of the room. For some programs where a small group is desirable, such as Baby Boosters Story Time for children ages 0 to 23 months, registration is necessary. These programs are noted in dateLines, the quarterly Calendar of Events, listing as "registration required". To register visit or phone the library branch having the program during the week preceding the program. Programs are free.
