HEREFORD HIGH SCHOOL'S CAREER CONNECTIONS MODEL

he Hereford High School's Career Connection Model is complex. Its strength lies in the fact that the participants come from the entire community. Within the school, the CO-OP, Guidance, English, and Social Studies departments spearhead the initiative. Outside of the school house, the PTSA, Boy Scouts of America, The Rotary Club, And The American Legion are all involved.

n October of 1996, Baltimore County had a symposium of all the feeder schools to Hereford H.S. We set up lines of communication between the schools (K-16). Since then we have had workshops between schools to smooth the transit of materials and ideas.

ereford High Schools students will have experiences in the classroom and outside of the classroom that will prepare them for the world of work. ALL students will get preparation and opportunities to experience real life situations. Students seeking a trade might choose a COP/DO (work study) experience which is offered all four years of high school experience. Students going to college might choose to do an internship in their senior year.
