SCHOOL/BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

    dedicated partnership committee, charged with establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial school/business relationships, is the foundation of any successful partnership.

COMMITTEE
 
  • Form a committee that is manageable in size and includes representatives from business, administration, staff and PTA.
  • Designate an enthusiastic leader to head the partnership committee.
  • Appoint a committee liaison from both business and school to maintain communication

  • Identify potential partners
  • Prioritize needs of school and business partners.
  • Develop vision, mission and objectives.
  • Maintain a bulletin board recognizing partners.
  • Recognize partnership activities through school publication

 ADMINISTRATION

 
  • Provide support for the partnership.
  • Participate in partnership training.
  • Designate an enthusiastic leader to head the committee.
  • Include the PTA in partnership activities.
  • Participate in yearly partnership planning and evaluation.
  • Encourage staff participation in partnership programs.
  • Develop a friendly, communicative relationship with your partners.
SCHOOL-BASED LIAISON   
  • Maintain active communication with partners, including thank-you notes to business partners for their efforts.
  • Establish meeting times and dates.
  • Start planning the new year before September so that partnership activities are in place.
  • Record minutes of each meeting.
  • Coordinate partnership activities.
  • Be a "cheerleader" for partners and partners activities
