ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

District wide Partnership Director 

 
  • Arrange meetings between potential partners.
  • Train business/school staff in partnership philosophy, roles and responsibilities.
  • Train and coach principals and school-based liaisons.
  • Assist in the preparation of the partnership documents.
  • Schedule signing ceremonies.
  • Provide press releases and partnership recognition.
  • Give support when requested.
  • Keep an active file on all partnership award programs.
  • Dissolve partnership programs when necessary.
  • Conduct a yearly evaluation.

COMMUNICATION 

 

ommunication is fundamental to developing any successful relationship. Effective communication in a partnership is achieved through a balance of the individuals efforts. Frequent communication will help to resolve issues that may arise. The following steps are recommended for reaching this goal:

  • Establish the vision, mission, and objectives early in the partnership.
  • Inform the community of the objectives for the partnership through various school publications.
  • Schedule meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate progress.
  • Celebrate success!

PREPARATION AND TRAINING

 

   t is necessary to train at least one representative from the school and business/organization in the essentials of the partnership relationship. Training offers the opportunity to become knowledgeable about the partner's profession. Training and staff development are available through the Office of Career Connections.

Corporate Partners: 

 
  • Get to know your school's staff, students, and community.
  • Identify your needs.
  • Use grade/age appropriate strategies.
  • Identify the school's available resources (building/personnel).
