PHILOSOPHY FOR THE
OFFICE OF CAREER CONNECTIONS
AND EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

The Mid-Maryland Career Connections Initiative is committed to the following beliefs:

  • Schools, businesses, and the community at large have a lifelong interest in the education of students
  • The success of the educational system and the vitality of the community are interrelated and dependent upon one another
  • Active involvement by business, industry, education, community organizations, and volunteers, fosters open communication and strengthens the commitment for quality education and work force development.

Three broad goals underlie the Office of Career Connections

  • To develop mutually supportive relationships between the school system and the total community
  • To share the available resources of the public school system with the community
  • To supplement the resources of the school system through mutually beneficial partnerships with business, industry, and organizations.

Office of Career Connections will oversee the implement of the following objectives:

  • Developing career awareness and community support for the school system and individual schools through educational partnerships
  • Providing training for all partners (school, business and organizations) and outline the roles and responsibilities of each within the partnership program
  • Providing recognition and support for both partners through public relations materials, press releases, and special partnership events
  • Procuring recourses for identified programs.
